Lets take a
quick lesson about the name of the Abu Dhabi. If I talked about the history of
some places all the time I might lose your interest and it will get bored to
some people who not a historical person. Okay, how about the name of Abu Dhabi
itself. Have you ever imagine why it call Abu Dhabi? Before that, just to add, that Abu dhabi is the capital and the second most populated cities in
the United Arab Emirates. The city itself on a T – shaped island jutting into
Persian Gulf from the central western coast.
The origin of the name “Abu Dhabi’
is uncertain but according to Karma Tourism website it literally means “father
of a gazelle”. The local people said that, there was a hunter who wounded a gazelle
and the gazelle are being called ‘dubi’ in local dialect and the story when on
and one until it became Abu-Dhabi. There are another version of the origin name
called Abu-Dhabi. It started from the name “Abu” is also means “rich in
something”, not only “father”. Local people noticed that during low tide gazelles
went from the islands to the water-place. So Abu-Dhabi means ‘the place, rich
in gazelles”.
